Bio

Wil Laura was born in the Peruvian mountain forest, where he was deeply influenced by the surrounding biodiversity. This environment sparked in him a deep interest in the physical processes that govern nature, which led him to obtain a bachelor's degree in meteorological sciences and a master's degree in Environment and Climate Change. He participated in projects on climate extremes analyzing the characteristics of heatwaves and their effects on health, their association with fires and their climate projections. He is currently a PhD student at the Australian National University. His research focuses on the analysis of compounds heatwaves and wildfires events and their impacts on health.
