Moulik Mandal
Bio
Moulik is more curious about understanding the dynamics of the weather systems, pursuing a PhD at the University of Tasmania and mainly focusing on the East Coast Lows and associated extremes on Australian region weather changes through the 21st century. He completed his B.Sc. (Honors) in Physics from Bankura University and M.Sc. in Atmospheric Sciences from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India. His master's thesis quantitively explored the influence of boreal summer monsoon intraseasonal oscillations on the occurrences of marine heatwave events over the North Bay of Bengal. The areas of his research interest include Air-Sea interactions, Extreme events (both the terrestrial and marine heatwaves) and their responses in different emission scenarios in future climate model projections over the tropical as well as extratropical regions.
