Lucía Gamarra
Bio
Lucía joined 21st Century Weather Centre with over 12 years of experience in engaging diverse stakeholders. After working in the food and agriculture sector in Peru for over six years, she moved to Australia in 2018 to further develop her knowledge and skills in tackling the complex challenge of climate change. Since 2019, she has been involved in water resources and economic growth programs for international development with the International WaterCentre, the Australian Water Partnership and the Market Development Facility. Lucía holds a Bachelor of Science (Food) from the Peruvian National University La Molina, a Graduate Diploma in Finance, and a Masters of Integrated Water Management from Griffith University. Lucía believes that effective communication of science and research can lead to tangible impacts in water security, healthy ecosystems, climate resilience, and quality of life.
