Dr Kial Stewart

Bio

Kial received his PhD from the Australian National University (ANU) in 2012, and completed successive postdocs at the Johns Hopkins University and the University of New South Wales, before returning to ANU in 2015. Kial's research interests cover a wide range of fundamental climate and weather dynamics including ice-ocean interactions, rotating/stratified flows over topography, and planetary waves. Kial's scientific approach is rather unique climate science; he predominantly employs laboratory fluid dynamics experiments to investigate climate and weather processes in ways that are impossible or infeasible to do with other approaches.
