Jency Sojan
Bio
Jency Maria Sojan is a PhD student at the Fenner School of Environment and Society, ANU. Her research focuses on humid heat stress and its health impacts under future climate scenarios. This work aims to contribute to climate resilience planning and policy development, particularly in mitigating the effects of extreme heat on vulnerable populations. Previously, Jency worked as a researcher at IISc, Bangalore, where she analyzed spatiotemporal patterns of extreme humid heat stress over India and the Global South. She holds a master's degree in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from IIT Tirupati. Her other research interests are compound heat extremes, high-impact hydrological events, and applications of remote sensing and GIS.
